From Paul:
This Kriegsmarine landing party is clearly geared up and ready for action.
Lead by their dashing, red bearded Captain they pack a lot of firepower (including an MG43) to get whatever job needs to be done and dash back to their Schnellboot or Unterseeboot for a quick getaway with their prizes. 28mm "Grey Wolves" figures by Artizan.
Wow, I love these guys! I think have pretty much all of these castings languishing in the 'lead reserve' and this entry makes me want to dig 'em all up and slop on some paint. Awesome.
These six excellent Deutsch Meer-Hunds (Nick, Burkhard, Stefan? Help me out here...) will give Paul 30 points.
Hmm, that red-bearded captain looks very familiar...

ReplyDeleteMarvellous. That jungle terrain makes me think of the U-Boat crew in The Land That Time Forgot! You just need to paint up some dinosaurs now!
ReplyDeleteIndeed so!
DeleteBut that is not jungle terrain, its my backyard! :-)
But what does that say of your backyard?
DeleteThey look great and that's a very nice shade of blue!

Nice work! I too like the Captain with the red beard.
ReplyDeleteWonderful figures Paul :)
ReplyDeleteVery nice painting. Maybe I should get me some of these too...
ReplyDelete@Curt: I'd say Wölfe der Meere (wolves of the seas) is more ftting as in German the Hund is more an insult than a honourable nome de guerre unlike your dogs of war. And it would better refer to the Graue Wölfe (grey wolves) as the U-boats were called. Hope this helps.
Ah, see, I learn something new every day! Excellent, thanks Nick!
DeleteSehr gut mein kameraden!
ReplyDeleteDanke for all the kind comments!
ReplyDeleteThe red bearded Captain may perhaps have been inspired....are there Bonus points for modelling yourself? :-)
He's back! Fantastic figures, Paul. The chap with the jumper reminds me of Captain Haddock. The red bearded Captain also reminds me of someone, but I can't quite place him....
ReplyDeleteGreat looking figures Paul!!
ReplyDeleteYet more figures that will get me sidetracked if I am not careful. Great looking figures
ReplyDeleteGreat job Paul.
ReplyDeleteGood looking minis! Nice to see something a bit less traditional in WW2 minis too
ReplyDeleteA nice bunch of renegades!
ReplyDeleteThese are great, love this about the Challenge, see lots of new shinny
ReplyDeleteIan
Fabulous sea troops! Love the captain's beard - very fitting for the fellow. Best, Dean
ReplyDeleteDamn nice Paul, damn nice!
ReplyDeleteReally good work Paul.
ReplyDeleteI have these figures as well, there are very few manufacturers that make Kriegsmarine figures. Artizan certainly give their sculpts character and I like the pale faces due to lack of sunlight
ReplyDeleteNice one. I just watched Das Boot for the first time in many years, over the holidays. Sub crew for sure.
