There are two platoons of 4 m113 vehicles each.

M113 Beast

M113 106 with mortar and figs to support it.

A lot of custom work went into these to try to match photos from books and web resources. Riders were added from Flashpoint Miniatures line.

Stowage was added and some made from scratch to add some details that one normally doesn't see at this scale.

I used MIG Pigments for the Vietnam earth ground colours. The mud was applied using a plaster, pigments, and brown paint mixture and then airbrushed/brushed on.

Some head swaps were done to mix it up a bit. 

A couple types of washes were used; my own mix of oil paint washes of various colors and CGR Painters Magik Mudd Wash black.
The chainlink fence was made from tulle.
The straps are a mixture of greenstuff and thin cut masking tape
The barb ware is Galeforce Nine product.
The aerials are Beadalon bead stringing wire, black.
The corrugated sheets are styrene.
The decals are from Battlefront Miniatures 

It has been a pleasure painting these up for Scale Creep Miniatures.

Hopefully I have done these justice for all that have actually used them in service.

Next up on the plate is either some more Vietnam, WWII, or sst mechs.

Really beautiful work Steve! The extra work on the stowage, crew and weathering really have paid their dividends. I like that that the actual mortars from the carriers can be deployed separate of the vehicles and that you have dismounted crew to serve them.

These two platoons of M113s will give Steve 93 points. Great job!

From SteveM: 28mm Dark Age Scots (185 points)

Out of the mists Steve emerges with this wonderful warband of Dark Age Scots.

The long and probably forgotten SteveM lives. I have managed to cobble together this large SAGA Scot warband. They are painted for the guys over at WWPD podcast (assume for the saga tapestry segment)

It consists of figures to make up warlord x2, Thanes, heathguard, and warriors for the SAGA game system.

Having never painted this era before I had to do some research of paint schemes and colors.

 

They are painted in a variety of tartan patterns and colors and given some tattoos for flavor.

And to make each one different where there are multiple of some figures takes some planning.

Amazing work Steve. The variations in plaids you've done is wonderful yet the entire collection still retains a cohesive feel about it. Very, very nice indeed.

This fine collection of Dark Age Scots will give Steve 185 points, including a little more for the lovely plaids and tatoos. Welcome back to the roster Steve!

From SteveM: 15mm WWII German Stugs & V1 Rockets (145 points)

These are from the Open Fire starter set. 15mm Flames of War painted up for the Battlefront Rangers program and demo we did yesterday. 

It is only part of the box set as another person was providing the Allied forces but I think these ones are the cool part. :) 

It comes with 1x v1 flying bomb but I picked up a couple more so I can make a flying bomb site scenario.

The ground work is done up for heavy city fighting with lots of debris. Broken walls, dust, burned out parts, etc.

This is super work Steve. While the Stugs, PAKs and infantry are great those V1s on their launch rails are the bomb. Literally. 

This submission will give Steve 145 points.

From SteveM: 15mm WWII Finnish Infantry & German Halftracks and ME 262 (89 points)

Battlefront miniatures 15mm Finnish machine gun platoon in winter bases.  And lots more Finns where these came from to fight the Soviet hordes....

Battlefront 15mm Sd Kfz 251/21 (Triple 15mm) platoon of three. The Panzer Brigades enjoyed top priority for the latest equipment Germany could offer. Perhaps more importantly, due to their relatively small size, German industry was able to meet all of the required vehicle numbers to fill out the organisation. This meant that a Panzer Brigade going into combat would be armed to the teeth with exceptional medium tanks, the latest tank-hunters, and a wide variety of specially modified half-tracks.

As the war has progressed, the threat faced by the armoured infantry has changed too. With the Allied Jabo, fighter bombers, becoming a serious problem, the Sd Kfz 251 has changed to meet the challenge. The Sd Kfz 251/21 mounts a triple-barrelled MG151/15 machine-gun on a fully-traversable anti-aircraft mount. This gives the anti-aircraft platoons of the new panzer brigades unprecedented firepower.

Battlefront 15mm Sk kfz-251 16d flamme. It would be interesting to find out what the survival rate of the torch crew was for the half tracks. The Sd.Kfz 251/16 Ausf D was fitted with two 1.4cm Flammenwerfer flame-throwers on each side.... On either side of the fighting compartment, two fuel tanks were mounted inside the rear compartment each with 700 litres of fuel.

Battlefront 15mm ME 262 A2a Sturmvogel. The Sturmvogel was armed with two 3mm cannons and a pair of 250kg bombs. With a speed of 870km/h it could outrun any Allied fighter making it impossible to catch. Stuka bomber pilots needed to relearn how to drop bombs at these higher speeds.

Very nice Steve. Did you use an airbrush on the vehicles and the 262? Very smooth work - I really like the mottled green on the Messerschmitt.

This entry will give Steve 89 points to add to his total.

From SteveM: 28mm WWII Allied HMGs & Armoured Cars (70 points)

These were for a commission. They are from Warlord Games with decals from CompanyB.biz. The armoured cars are a British AEC Mk III and a Humber Mk IV.

The crew are fully magnetized. Meaning that the magnets are in the figures and metal was put into the round bases. This allows for casualties to be taken off the larger stand if desired. Smaller bases are supplied a well.

Very innovative Steve. I really like how the HMG bases have been designed to be mixed and matched to different basing options. 

These two HMGs and the pair of armoured cars will give Steve 70 points, which includes extra for the work that went into the basing. Well done!
