From Millsy: 28mm Austrian 18th Century Commanders (40 points)

These are a couple of senior commander stands for my 18thC Maurice project. 

The figures are all 28mm Front Rank Austrians, although I’ve gone to town with the uniforms as they’re for my imaginary nation. 

The rearing horses are nice but you do get the feeling the riders are barely hanging on at times.

Those are beautiful command stands, Millsy. I like the saturated colours that you've used and the groundwork complements them nicely. I do have to agree with you about the somewhat odd poses.  A couple of them look like refugees from a Terry Gilliam illustration.

These four German fellows will give Millsy 40 points.

More Foundry Vikings from me, these are the last Viking figures that I had been commissioned to paint.

17 Vikings and an unlucky monk!!

This batch has two lots of 5 berserkers. Five in wolf skins and 5 in bear skins. Then 7 extra Vikings and the unlucky Monk. The shields are all hand painted this time.

Well Andrew, it seems you have your mojo back, as these look gorgeous. (That poor bloody monk. The pose is absolutely perfect for his situation. He better hope Brunhilda the Short comes to his rescue...)

These eighteen will give Andrew a base of 90 points, but I'm adding another 10 for the shields and spiffing trews.

From RossM: 15mm WWII German Assault Guns, Infatntry Gun & 28mm Vikings (46 points)

These entries cover a range of scales and two very different periods. The first pictures are of a pair of Sturmtigers in 15mm from Battlefront Miniatures Great miniatures that paint up well and really catch the inherent power of these tanks. There are no decals on these as they have been misplaced at present.

The next set of pictures are of a 150mm IG from Skytrex and crew from SHQ. Only the crew are included as a part of this entry as the gun has been on the painting table for ages. All of these figures are in 20mm and this would be my scale of choice for WW2.

Lastly, there are a pair of 28mm Vikings from Gripping Beast's earlier range of Vikings. These have been based as skirmishers for Impetus. Excellent figures that capture the period well and are remarkably easy to paint. The choice of colour on the bottom of the buckler may well change

Great stuff Ross. I like how smooth and clean your paint style is - that infantry gun with its crew is particularly fine. I agree with you in that the 20mm scale seems to hit a sweet spot for WWII gaming, especially if you want to have a bit of kit on the table.

This assortment figures and models will give Ross 46 points. Well done!

Attatched here are 4 Prussian volonteer jager (plastic perry). Just for 20 points more :)

I'll try to paint before the end of the Challenge 24 Perry Marins de la Garde  (first one painted - the rest just primed in black).

Nice job on these lads Stefano! Their green uniforms turned out very nice and you've done good work with the bases as well.

That first sample figure of the Garde Marine is superb! I'm very much looking forward to seeing the battalion in its entirety.

These four Prussian skirmishers will give Stefano 20 points.

From SamuliS: 28mm Napoleonic 1st Royal Scots (165 points)

Well I'm back from my alpine holiday more or less intact eventhough I had some minor disagreements with an avalanche over my chosen snowboarding lines. Work and Uni have kept me quite busy in the last couple of weeks so I only managed to finish these guys now. 

A battalion of british infantry for Waterloo in the form of the 1st Royal Scots. This bunch is a mix of Victrix and Perry figures and I don't think there is a single guy who is made completely from parts of one manufacturer. I'm pretty happy about the interchangability of these plastics as it makes it pretty easy to add variety to your units. 

Painted with Vallejo paints and finished with Army Painter basing stuff. The flags are from GMB designs. Gotta love those things, eventhough they are quite big for 28mm. At least I can spot my units during the game easily.

Probably should clean up my minis better before rushing them to the photo booth. Quite a few of them seem to have static grass stuck onto them :)

That is a lovely looking battalion Samuli, well done! I've glued my fingers together assembling a couple Victrix battalions in the past so I applaud you for taking the effort to mix and match between the Victrix and Perry boxed sets. The additional work has paid off in providing a wonderful assortment of poses to entertain the eye.

The Royal Scots will give Samuli 165 points. Again, well done!
