Great paint jobs on some lovely figures, and that finial is a perfect touch.

This is such a broad period, with so many potential battlefields, that it really quite a lot to take in. Starting with the siege of Malta is a great idea, particularly given your recent visit. Thanks very much for the kind words.

As to the bases for these, I use various shades of simple craft paint readily available from our local craft shops (they are from the 'Americana' range - quite inexpensive, at around a $1.20 per 59ml bottle). Here are the stages I've used:
1) solid base of 'Light Cinnamon';
2) heavy drybrush of 'Sable Brown' which almost covers the cinnamon colour;
3) slightly reduced drybrush of 'Fawn';
4) an even lighter drybrush of 'Linen';
5) a final edge highlight on the larger stones and rocks of 'Bleached Sand'.

Done! :)Curthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03202047917371080576noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5113124494092492419.post-29232550926202727412020-02-08T14:35:53.778-06:002020-02-08T14:35:53.778-06:00Sorry for not having commented earlier or on the c...Sorry for not having commented earlier or on the challenge blog my friend.
